Background and the Purposes of the

Training Course

Dao and Qi culture is the essence of traditional

Chinese civilisation, and Qigong is its core. In the

past seven thousand years, Qigong has played an important role in maintaining mental and physical

health, treating illnesses, and elevating life for

Chinese people.

Recently people outside China have started to take

notice of Qigong and it has become more and more practised and is expected to continue to develop. However, a few problems have been observed

during its development:

Lack of professional teachers

There are very few teachers who have been through formal professional training and have comprehensive and deep enough understanding in both theory and methods. There are even fewer who have a good level of Qigong practice and Qigong cultivation in virtues.

Problems with current Qigong workers

Lack of comprehensive all round teaching of Qigong theory and practice; mostly limiting Qigong to a technique or method.

Qigong workers themselves are no different from anyone else in terms of their own physical and mental health, the level of virtue cultivation, and the development of special abilities.

Qigong has been commercialized and commodified at the elementary level as many workers are keen to turn it into something profitable with only brief training or experience themselves.

The practice of individual Qigong system is seriously constrained by its own particular tradition and its theories and methods.

Lack of professional Qigong therapy

and research workers

Zhineng Qigong is a very important part of Yuan Tze Ren Xue. It has been practised by millions of Chinese for over 20 years and proved to be a very effective system in improving physical and mental health. It is also proven to be very safe to practise. Zhineng Qigong has comprehensive theories and methods which are built upon scientific foundations.

The continuous spread of Zhineng Qigong outside China in recent years has brought more and more people to its practice and also many are keen to participate in spreading it further.

Due to the shortage of formally trained professional workers, the practice of Zhineng Qigong remains at the level of simple and basic application of theories and methods. What this means to practitioners is they can still experience improvement in their health and life to a degree, but may find it difficult to bring their practice and health to a higher level and their progress in exploring the truth of life through Qigong may seem slow.

Yuan Tze of the Yuan Tze Human Life Science Centre has set his vision on the following:

Train people to become qualified teachers who can master the essence of Qigong, especially Zhineng Qigong at its highest level.

Train people to become capable Qigong therapists who are equipped with special abilities and able to deal with a wide range of health problems at the root, be it physical, psychological or mental, in an accurate, effective, and safe way.

Choose a small number of students who have strong “affinity” with Yuan Tze from the Training Course to pass down the secret teachings Yuan Tze has received from his high Masters and what he has achieved in his life. Much of the essence of traditional Chinese culture has been lost. For Yuan Tze, he cannot afford this to happen in his own hands.

The main purpose of the course is to help more people to become highly qualified teachers at different levels. Therefore the trainees themselves can have the opportunity to improve their own quality of life and health, and learn to know more about life and how to change and elevate it so as to strengthen their normal abilities as well as develop special (supernormal) abilities.

More and more people who can master this “skill of life” at higher level can spread it to every part of the world. The need is there as people are suffering from all sorts of health problems. Health is a major challenge throughout human society. On top of that, we have other issues that could trouble our life. Qualified teachers will become seeds and spread Qigong wherever they go. It is for the benefit of individuals as well as the progress of all society.

Many who are concerned about and have tried to foresee the future of human beings have foreseen that the 21st century is the era of human life science. People will not be satisfied looking outward to explore and change life, nor by using chemical means or other limited physical techniques and methods in attempting to deal with health issues.

From the viewpoint of Yuan Tze Human Life Science, people's knowledge of life, especially human consciousness is still very limited. In terms of health, we have very little understanding, and actually much misunderstanding, about the laws of health.

In Yuan Tze Human Life Science, Qigong is used as a major way of developing the potential of a human life. With the teachings passed down from generations of realised beings (saints and sages), Qigong is an inward seeking method which enables us to know ourselves, break the attachment of human life, and understand the truth of health and life. Hence the dream of achieving optimal health, true happiness, freedom, and high level of well being will gradually come true.

They will be given the informal certificate if they pass the assessment. However, if they decide to teach, they have to pass the assessment for all the previous levels.

Teaching

Teaching from Yuan Tze will be delivered in the following three ways, which makes it different from ordinary teaching and learning situation:

  1. Transmission through external and physical forms, for example the use of the book “Elementary Guide to Zhineng Qigong”, and the teaching of physical movement.

  2. Transmission through verbal language – This is the traditional way of teaching, and is done by Yuan Tze in a special way.

  3. Mind to mind teaching – Another special and advanced way of teaching from Yuan Tze. It is through direct connection and communication of heart and Shen between Yuan Tze and students.

Questions and Answers

Q: What are the requirements for entering the course?

A: In general, there are no specific requirements. As long as the applicant does not have any mental or physical conditions that are so severe as to interfere with or disrupt the normal process of training. The course is open to any adult wishing to enhance their health and life, and use the skills acquired from the training to help others.

Q: I would like to do the course, but my work and family situations do not allow me to work as a Qigong teacher or therapist yet. Can I still do the training?

A: Yes, you can. Many have experienced the benefits of Qigong after doing it for a while, especially in the change of health and state of mind, and the development of potential abilities. Going through a training that is more intensive, focused and strict would mean the above benefits can be more consistent and effective.

It would also mean better quality of life and enhanced performance in every aspect of life, for example creativity. As a matter of fact, what you gain from continual training in Qigong can be applied in any professional area you work in and enhance your performance of it. When Qigong is applied to or combined with something in depth, it can help bring it to a different level and a new study or science can emerge, such as Qigong Sociology, Qigong Medical Science, Qigong Educational Science, Qigong Physics. Having Qigong to help you enhance your professional performance is also a good way of contributing to society.

Q: I really appreciate that Yuan Tze is providing this professional training in New Zealand. I know this is my chance to become a qualified Qigong professional and I intend to go through the whole course. However, I am not sure if I can afford to pay for the tuition fees for all of the 8 levels. Is there any way to deal with this?

A: We have tried to take into account the difficulties people might have when planning for the course in order to make it more feasible for most. The 2-3 months break before the next level is to address people's financial difficulties. This is not only the time for students to digest what they have learned and put it into test and practice, but also to start helping people and bring real benefit to people. You can charge reasonably for the service you provide. This way you can better support yourself financially. As you progress in your training, the quality of the service you can provide will also improve, thus you will be more capable of creating better financial reward for your work.

Qigong and Ren Xue are effective ways of elevating our life and helping others. We should look at the financial return from a perspective that is in congruence with the nature of our work.

Q: I am very keen to do the training course. But I am still working in my current job. Are there any other options for the course in terms of the time arrangement, such as evening or weekend courses?

A: This training course is different from our regular practice classes in that it is a complete and structured program designed to bring students to the eighth level over approximately two and half years. Taking all the conditions and especially, the quality of the course and the day-to-day activity of the Centre, we find it difficult to provide other options for the course to meet everyone's needs.

Loss and gain often go together in life. We usually have to spend years to acquire any qualification or skill. To undertake Qigong teacher and therapist training is to work on your life to bring a complete change in all aspects of it. If you are really serious about exploring the truth of life and elevate yourself and help others, you can definitely make time for it. You are the person who decides how to use your time. If you want your life to change and yet are reluctant or not prepared to make the necessary effort, the chance of success in it would probably be slim.

Tuition Fees (for each level)

$980

$880 for full time students

Fees for Correspondence programme to be advised when programme is finalized.

Accommodation and Meals

Students are responsible for their own accommodation and meals. The Centre can help arrange accommodation for your convenience.

Testimonial

“I find Teachers' training an opportunity to learn the Qigong methods in detail and so bring a deeper awareness to my own practise.  Although I am not currently teaching I now feel confident to teach basic Qigong should the opportunity arises.

“I gain enormously from the Human Life Science teachings of internal seeking that Master Liu teaches in parallel with the physical Qigong methods and mind activity. From my limited experience, I find the practise of internal seeking brings deep calmness, harmony and good 'health' to my everyday life. I feel very fortunate that Master Liu has chosen to live in Wellington and to offer these wonderful and rewarding training courses.”
